Robinson's number was positioned to the left of the Twins numbers in both venues. In the Metrodome, the numbers ran in that order from left to right. In Target Field, they run from right to left, presumably to allow space for additional numbers in the future. The color scheme on the "Twins" script and numerals were reversed, pinstripes were removed from the home uniform, and an updated "Minnie and Paul" roundel patch replaced the originals on the left sleeve.

The "TC" logo was moved to a sleeve on the jerseys, occasionally appeared as an alternate cap design, and then was reinstated as the main cap logo in 2010. Both the "TC" and "Minnie & Paul" logos remain the team's primary insignia. Tovar finished the 1968 season with a .272 batting average. Over his 12-year career, he played 943 games in the outfield and over 500 more as an infielder or designated hitter. This was the only game in his career in which he played as a pitcher, catcher, or first baseman.

Davis told him he was going to sit on Leibrandt's change-up and send everyone home. The seventh game was tied 0–0 after the regulation nine innings, and marked only the second time that the seventh game of the World Series had ever gone into extra innings. The Twins won on a walk-off RBI single by Gene Larkin in the bottom of the 10th inning, after Morris had pitched ten shutout innings against the Braves. The seventh game of the 1991 World Series is widely regarded as one of the greatest games in the history of professional baseball. The team had a period of prolonged success in the 1920s and 1930s, led by Walter Johnson, as well as fellow Hall-of-Famers Bucky Harris, Goose Goslin, Sam Rice, Heinie Manush, and Joe Cronin.

In June 2020, following protests over the murder of George Floyd, a statue of former owner Calvin Griffith was removed from Target Plaza outside of the stadium because of his history of racist comments. The American League opposed the move at first, but in 1960 a deal was reached. Major League Baseball agreed to let Griffith move his team to the Minneapolis-St.

We are heading into the final full month of regular season baseball, which means the Twins will be doing everything they can to secure a spot in the playoffs. The Metrodome's upper deck in center and right fields was partly covered by a curtain containing banners of various titles won, and retired numbers. There was no acknowledgment of the Twins' prior championships in Washington and several Senator Hall of Famers, such as Walter Johnson, played in the days prior to numbers being used on uniforms. However, Killebrew played seven seasons as a Senator, including two full seasons as a regular prior to the move to Minnesota in 1961.

Minnesota Twins: 1961–present
The original radio voices of the Twins in 1961 were Ray Scott, Halsey Hall and Bob Wolff. Twins TV and radio broadcasts were originally sponsored by the Hamm's Brewing Company. In 2009, Treasure Island Resort & Casino became the first-ever naming rights partner for the Twins Radio Network, making the commercial name of TRN the Treasure Island Baseball Network. In 2017, it was announced that WCCO would become the flagship station the Twins again starting in 2018, thus returning the team back to its original station after 11 years.
The media often shortened the nickname to "Nats" — even for the 1961 expansion team. The names "Nationals" and "Nats" were revived in 2005, when the Montreal Expos moved to Washington to become the Nationals. 1 In his rookie season of 1910, Walsh played every position except pitcher, catcher, and first base. He ended his six-year career with only one appearance on the mound, pitching 2⅔ innings in an October 9, 1911, game against the Boston Rustlers, in which he allowed eight earned runs (for an ERA of 27.00).

After an uneventful 7th inning, action began in the 8th; Caleb Thielbar entered the game in relief of Jorge López and coaxed a sky-high pop-up from Payton. Unfortunately, Gordon never comfortably found the ball, and it slipped out of his glove, allowing Payton to dash to second base safely. The White Sox pounced immediately; José Abreu—as he always does—struck a double off the wall in right-center field, scoring the go-ahead run. On the flipside, Louie Varland easily settled into his start; the St. Paul native breezed through the opening frame and worked around a walk in the 2nd inning, supporting the two-run advantage his offense had gifted him. Trouble brewed in the 3rd inning, however; Matt Wallner awkwardly misplayed a line drive, allowing Josh Harrison to score from first base while Romy Gonzalez—the fortunate individual who hit the ball—scampered safely to third base.

The uniforms are paired with the road all-navy "M" cap with red star. Road gray uniforms featured an all-caps "MINNESOTA" in navy with red numbers. On the back, the player names are in navy and numbers are in red.
In the bottom of the fifth, Tovar led off for the third time but grounded out, third to first. Clark reached on an error by second baseman Dick Green. With Nettles batting, Clark took off for second and catcher Jim Pagliaroni threw the ball into center field. Clark motored to third on the error and was given credit for a steal of second.
They turned the season around somewhat, but still lost 102 games, finishing with what is currently the second-worst record in Twins history , despite the .301 average, 23 homers and 92 RBI from rookie Kent Hrbek. In 1984, Griffith sold the Twins to multi-billionaire banker/financier Carl Pohlad. Pohlad beat a larger offer by New York businessman Donald Trump by promising to keep the club in Minnesota. The Metrodome hosted the 1985 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

In 1973, the Twins switched to polyester pullover uniforms, which included a powder blue road uniform. Chest numerals were added while a navy-brimmed red cap was used with the home uniform.

Next up was Jackson, who pulled a pitch that first baseman Tovar snared and, from his knees, threw to the pitcher Hall covering first in time to get Jackson. In the bottom of the first, Tovar led off with a walk, becoming the first pitcher to bat in the leadoff spot for the Twins. Bob Allison forced Nettles at second and Tovar went to third, but he was stranded when Rod Carew grounded out to first. More than 50 years later, Oakland’s Bert Campaneris became the first player to play all nine positions in the same game, accomplishing the feat on September 8, 1965, in a game against the California Angels.
Nettles walked and Allison hit a comebacker to Odom on the mound. Clark broke for home and Odom threw the ball to Bando at third who tagged out Clark. Carew sent a single to left, and Nettles scored the Twins’ second run of the game. There are many free sites that stream all the games everyday, with no blackout. I haven't paid for MLB.TV or any other for at least 7 years now, and they would have ridiculous blackouts.
Sparked by this victory, Minnesota went on to win its next three games, sweeping a series from the California Angels. Oakland and Minnesota closed the season with a three-game set played at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Oakland took two of the three games and still finished in sixth place, three games ahead of the Twins in the American League standings. I haven't been able to watch a single game in almost 2 years (outside of Apple+ or the occasional one on Fox) but the lack of providers that are part of the Bally Sports Network severely hurts people.
